puzzled manA couple of weeks ago, Jaime and I were lucky enough to speak at the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers symposium at the Barbican in London. We ran two workshops and the delegates were a delight. No one left early or threw stuff. Quite a result. Part of what I talked about were the common barriers that prevent people from blogging.

Why it’s sometimes right to think wrong.

Paul Arden 1940-2008Last week's report from CERN that scientists had managed to fire particles faster that the speed of light rocked a few quantum physicists back on their heels. Should the results be further verified, the very building blocks of physics and indeed of Einstein's theory of relativity will be chucked out the window, faster than you can say E=MC2. It got me thinking about the brilliant little book by Paul Arden, 'Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite' in which he challenges conventional wisdom in an attempt to unlock astonishing creativity.

Infographics

Last week we spoke at the PFS conference in Birmingham about how to engage in 'Inbound Marketing'. One of the strategies we spoke about was creating infographics. Infographics are really just a series of images combined into one large graphic, sprinkled with some text. Sounds boring but the effect is fantastic. They are a great way to explain complex things without writing much text. Mike found this one today so I thought I should share it.
